Hybrid Performance Systems
The marine industry faces fresh challenges as operating water depths increase and bandwidth and improved signal performance becomes even more critical. CRE designs, qualifies and stocks an extensive range of specialised Signal, Electrical, Fibre Optic and Hybrid cable and connectors. The challenge with all multi element cables is maintaining element performance through design and material selection whilst at depth. CRE has significant experience in this area and have developed an extensive catalogue of products to match the different depth requirements of the industry. We know that reliable high end performance at depth is critical for our customers’ success and with our experience we have a unique understanding of what can be achieved. CRE have the capability to match cable, connectors and wiring detail in order to deliver the system performance that our customers expect.
Coax, Hybrid and Ethernet proven systems
Our ability to design is not restricted to purely cables. CRE designs connectors and bulkheads to support the performance of the base high performance cables. We offer 50 & 75 Ohm co-ax hybrids that support co-ax signal performance at the highest level at depth and test our connectors for headroom against the common Ethernet standards in order to identify the optimum wiring detail for each scenario.
High Performance Cable Designs
CRE stock cables offering the following functionality –
- Ethernet, 1 Gigabyte & 100 MB rated to 7000m WD
- Co-ax cables, rated to 1080p/60Hz to 7000m WD
- RS232 cables, rated to 115 kbps to 7000m WD
Qualification and performance testing
Verification performance of the finished cable assembly can be undertaken to confirm performance meets customer expectations. We can offer hyperbaric, hyperbaric/signal performance with individual coax, Ethernet, RS 232 testing or combination testing with complex cable where there is a risk of high power element impacting signal performance.
Standard continuity and HV DC insulation testing is carried out at multiple hold points during the manufacturing process. Off-site we can offer load testing of strain / umbilical assemblies and we have experience of working with all the main certifying authorities.
