Due to continued growth from existing markets and forecasted growth from new markets to be entered, CRE have announced plans to increase capacity at their Aberdeen facility by 100%. The additional capacity will be developed utilising lean manufacturing principles and fully integrate receipt of goods, stores, cable preparation, termination, moulding, QC and despatch functions.
The new facility will also include new offices for the customer support function, a board room and integrate upgraded communications into a new hub to support the complete facility.
Founder director Craig Simpson said "I'm delighted to see the business move forward with this new investment. Like many local businesses, we have simply evolved with time but we made a conscious decision to stop and take a long hard look at how we currently design, manufacture and deliver product. The planned changes will simplify the manufacturing process, improve communication and treble the potential output from this site. The additional capacity will deliver an ability to develop and launch new services which will include a new production cell for our fibre optic product range.
At the same time, the increase in footprint will give the business space to grow our engineering team and consolidate the R & D testing to support our ongoing new product development.
These changes will give us the space, structure and operating controls that will be the foundation for the next phase of growth for CRE"
With the design work complete, the planned work is now out to tender with completion planned later this year.
