Fibre Optic Products and Service

The marine industry faces fresh challenges as operating water depths increase and bandwidth becomes even more critical. CRE designs, qualifies and stocks an extensive range of specialised Fibre Optic systems. We offer connector and penetrator systems with a variety of fibre densities in multi and single mode with fibre terminations to suit your application. Our range can be delivered in oil filled or moulded assemblies with the connectors and bulkheads manufactured in 316 SS as standard.

Connectors

The fibre optic connector range is offered in the ‘A’ & ‘B’ shell size rated for 6000m WD and suitable for open face pressure in standard materials. The CRE range is based upon Expanded Beam technology which is more expensive than physical contact fibre but generally recognised to be more efficient during operations. The lack of physical contact reduces wear and results in reduced signal loss due to any localised contamination. Easily maintained in the field and far more tolerant of any lateral or angular misalignment, the Expanded Beam product is commonly chosen in high service areas such as subsea, military & field telecommunications where a combination of performance, mating cycles and maintenance make it an obvious design to choose.

Penetrators

CRE offers a wide range of penetrator and combination assembly options with short lead times. Whether you require wet pressure balanced assemblies, dry pressure blocked or a combination penetrator/connector fibre optic assembly CRE can support your application. All of our electrical bulkhead interfaces can be offered as Fibre Optic penetrator interfaces or we can design and manufacture any interface that is required.
